Richard Firmin, also known as Firmin Richard in The Phantom of the Opera (1910), was a character in The Phantom of the Opera was a co-owner of the Opera Populaire along with Gilles André after the previous owner's retirement.

History[]

In The Phantom of the Opera (1910), Firmin Richard, alongside his colleague and co-manager Armand Moncharmin, was tormented by the Phantom, and was driven to the verge of insanity by the him. He was said to not know the first thing about music, and was described by Madame Giry as being strong and manly.

He initially believed that Messieurs Debienne and Poligny were pranking them about the Phantom of the Opera.

Monsieur Richard was renamed Richard Firmin in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera.

In The Phantom of the Opera (2004), André and Firmin worked in the scrap metal business before becoming managers.
