:: The Auctioneer plays a small part in the Prologue of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1986 musical. He auctions off old set pieces from the Opera Populaire, one being the Phantom's music box, which he sells to a seventy year old Raoul. Heaped on the stage under a curtain is the chandelier ("...the very chandelier which figures in the famous disaster...") off which the curtain is ripped off. There is an enormous flash, and the chandelier goes back to it's original place above the stalls, all the while going back to 1881.
